Black Bean Soup

A delicious and unique soup!



1 onion, diced
2 carrots, diced
4 stalks celery, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
2 jars Newman’s Own® Sockarooni Sauce
3 cups water
2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
1 Tbsp cumin
salt and pepper
1 avocado, diced
1 lime, sliced
8 cilantro sprigs for garnish


  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, sauté onion, carrots, celery, and bell pepper in olive oil until translucent and soft.

  • Add black beans, water, Sockarooni sauce, cilantro, cumin, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.

  • Serve hot and garnish with avocado, lime, and cilantro.
