After tasting this moist and delicious dish, you’ll never think of fried chicken the same way again!
12 chicken drumsticks, cleaned and skin removed
1 bottle Newman's Own® Olive Oil & Vinegar Dressing
½ cup white balsamic vinegar
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
3 sprigs fresh oregano, cleaned, dried and chopped
1 bunch fresh basil leaves, cleaned, dried and chopped
Olive oil
Freshly ground black pepper
- In a deep frying pan over medium heat, pour Newman's Own® Olive Oil & Vinegar Dressing and the white balsamic vinegar. Allow mixture to come to a simmer, then add the chicken.
- Simmer chicken until cooked through, approximately 20 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In a clean skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped garlic and shallots in olive oil until tender. Add the cooked chicken, fresh herbs, and freshly ground pepper. Cook until chicken is browned on all sides, about 10-12 minutes.
- Serve Italian Dressed Chicken with a salad and spring vegetables on top of brown or white rice.
